Almost every second person tested for COVID-19 positive in Chisinau municipality

Chisinau, 27 November /MOLDPRES/ - Only 83 free beds for the treatment of people sick with coronavirus have remained in the hospitals of Chisinau.
At a today’s meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), the deputy head of the health department of the Chisinau city hall, Boris Gilca, today said that 959 patients were put in Chisinau-based hospitals out of the overall capacity of 1,042 beds for patients sick with COVID-19. ‘’As many as 310 patients are in serious condition and 57 are in extremely serious condition,’’ Gilca noted.
According to the official, the city hall plans to activate another several tens of beds in hospitals from Moldova’s capital.
At the same time, Gilca said that the indexes continued to show worrying figures. ‘’While in last October, one of three persons was confirmed with coronavirus, at present, almost every second person is confirmed positive,’’ he stressed.
A number of 43,616 people sick with COVID-19 have been registered in the Chisinau city so far. Over 31,000 people were healed. There are 750 deaths triggered by coronavirus in the Moldovan capital.
