Chisinau, 27 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau city hall today informed about the putting into operation of a station for treating leachate, made up of solid domestic waste, deposited at the waste storage site from Tantareni, each of Chisinau.
The leachate treatment station has a capacity of processing 150 cubic metres/day of liquid waste and it works according to the principle of reverse osmosis. Diverse chemical substances are used in the process of treating the leachate and technical water is got as a result. The overall cost of the project is of about 29 million lei, of which 11.8 million lei represents the equipment for treating the leachate and 14.8 million lei – construction of the station’s infrastructure.
The new equipment for the treatment of liquid waste will reduce the indexes of environment’s pollution and will minimize the negative impact brought to health.
Besides the construction of the station for treating the leachate, in 2019, designing works for strengthening the protection dam, worth 1.7 million lei, were carried out at the Tantareni waste storage site.
The Chisinau city hall got a financing of 6.6 million lei for this project on behalf of the National Ecological Fund.
