Chisinau, 8 December /MOLDPRES/- The promulgation decree and the law on ratification of the financing agreement between Moldova and the International Development Association for the implementation of the Competitive Agriculture Project were published in the Official Journal today.

The agreement on the third additional financing for the Competitive Agriculture in Moldova MAC-P worth 13.5 million euros was signed with the International Development Association on 1 October. The agreement covers the establishment of a comprehensive management system for animal by-products. The component provides for the construction of a processing plant for animal waste not intended for human consumption, which would be a real solution to maintain the favorable epizootic situation in the country, including environmental protection and would facilitate Moldova's inclusion in the list of countries eligible to export livestock products to the European Union.

The implementing institution is the Consolidated Unit for implementation and monitoring of projects in agriculture (UCIMPA), which is under the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, and the implementation period is 2020-2024. The interest rate related to the loan is 0.45% annually. In addition, the payment of the service fee worth about 0.75% per year is provided.
