As many as 1,709 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 8 December /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 3,792 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 1,709 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which eight import cases. As many as 119,204 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to data put out by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 63 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians – 23, medical assistants –29, auxiliary staff employees – 11.

A number of 3,899 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are put in hospitals, of whom 288 are in extremely serious condition (51 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 8,549 persons are treated at home with easy forms of coronavirus and 29,620 are under supervision at the domicile.

Another 627 people have been treated and discharged. As many as 102,565 people were treated of COVID-19.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 22 deaths triggered by COVID-19, with 2,460 people dead because of the virus till present.
