Chisinau, 9 December /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Zinaida Greceanii today sent a message on the International Anticorruption Day, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
The message says:
"On 9 December we mark the International Anticorruption Day, which was initiated by the United Nations for a deeper understanding of the problem of corruption and objectives to prevent and combat it.
Moldova is a party to the UN Convention against Corruption. In collaboration with development partners, significant efforts have been made to improve the legislation. At the same time, the authorities are aware of the existence of backlogs and commitments in the fight against corruption. Therefore, we will make greater efforts to advance to eliminating this phenomenon.
To stop corruption definitively means to ensure a more accelerated socio-economic development, to have a stronger rule of law in which citizens' rights are fully protected”.
