Chisinau, 10 December /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba today paid a visit to Chisinau. The Ukrainian diplomacy head said that this was the first visit by a Ukrainian foreign affairs minister in the last six years and that he hoped that the bilateral ties with Moldova would be fostered. Kuleba made statements to this effect at a joint news conference with Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Aureliu Ciocoi.

The Moldovan diplomacy head noted that more subjects had been discussed today and that the officials decided that the relations with Ukraine would enter a new development stage. ‘’The discussion was open, which inspires me hope that we will manage to achieve the identification of solutions to the problems persisting in our relations. We ruled to bring a new breath to the relations between Moldova and Ukraine and I hope that they will enter a qualitatively new phase. We discussed aspects on the regional and international security and I am happy that we found full understanding in this aspect,’’ Ciocoi said.

For his part, the Ukrainian diplomat said that the Kiev authorities wanted a meeting with President-elect Maia Sandu and opted for boosting the bilateral cooperation. ‘’We want more joint economic projects, infrastructure projects and we must settle the chronic subjects and move forward. Ukraine backed Moldova and we will work together in the European integration process,’’ Kuleba said.

In Chisinau, the Ukrainian diplomat has planned meetings with President-elect Maia Sandu, Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii and Prime Minister Ion Chicu.
