Moldova invited to participate in World Exhibvition Expo 2025 due in Japan

Chisinau, 10 December /MOLDPRES/ - Aspects of the Moldovan-Japanese commercial and economic cooperation, opportunities of investments in Moldova, as well as the country’s participation in the World Exhibition Expo 2025, due in Osaka, Japan, were the main subjects tackled at a today’s meeting between Economics and Infrastructure Minister Anatol Usatii and Ambassador of Japan to Moldova Yoshihiro Katayama.   

The Moldovan minister thanked the government of Japan for the foreign assistance provided to Moldova in such strategic sectors as economy, agriculture, environment, health, education, etc. One of the most recent projects is the one on technical assistance meant for the sector of Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises for 2019-2021, which is aimed at extending the services of consultancy specialized in business nationally.  

For his part, Yoshihiro Katayama said that he wanted a continuous development between the two countries, through strengthening the commercial and economic cooperation and enhancing the level of bilateral investments. In the context, the Japanese ambassador made an invitation to Moldova to participate in the World Exhibition Expo 2025. He specified that Japan would provide the needed assistance and support to the government and companies of Moldova, to participate in this event.  

Anatol Usatii thanked for the invitation, stressing that for Moldova, this event represented a good occasion for promoting an important platform for Moldovan companies to present their products and services.   

Presently, there are 11 enterprises with Japanese capital in Moldova, with investments worth 107,004 thousand lei. The foreign trade between Moldova and Japan amounted to over 40 million dollars in January-September 2020, up by 5.92 per cent against the same period of 2019.
