Moldovan foreign affairs minister has phone conversation with counterpart from Montenegro

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ - Prospects for boosting the bilateral relations, including through the light of both state’s European integration aspirations, sectoral cooperation, integration within regional initiatives and in multilateral framework have been the main subjects tackled in a phone conversation between Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Aureliu Ciocoi and his counterpart from Montenegro Đorđe Radulović, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.
The two diplomacy heads expressed satisfaction with the cordial level of the bilateral political relation. The sides agreed on identifying ways of fostering the Moldovan-Montenegrin relations through the light of increasing the commercial and economic exchanges, bolstering the sectoral cooperation, especially in the tourism field.
Ministers Aureliu Ciocoi and Đorđe Radulović stressed the important role of the parliamentary democracy in developing the bilateral cooperation. In this respect, the officials will take joint efforts for setting up the groups of parliamentary friendship in the legislative bodies of the two countries.
The discussion between the two ministers was focused on the dimension of exchanging experience in the European integration process. The sides agreed on holding, in the near future, a new round of political consultations between the foreign affairs ministries, including in order to consider the bilateral legal framework and develop initiative of common interest.
The sides highly appreciated also the cooperation within the regional formats in the Central and South-Eastern Europe. In the context, Aureliu Ciocoi welcomed Montenegro’s efforts to ensure, this year, the rotating chairmanship of the Central European Initiative (CEI) and expressed appreciations for the Montenegrin authorities’ commitment to extend the present mandate at CEI till the end of 2021.
In the end of the conversation, Minister Đorđe Radulović made an invitation to his Moldovan counterpart to pay a visit to Podgorica. The invitation was accepted. The visit’s details are to be established through diplomatic channels.
