Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ - Acting President Igor Dodon today participated in a weekly meeting with Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii and Prime Minister Ion Chicu (in online regime), the presidential press service has reported.
The officials discussed more issues on the working agenda of the top leadership for the current week. The head of state stressed that the main subjects remained those four draft laws on the budgetary and fiscal policy for 2021, which are to be adopted by the parliament in the second reading.
„It is about the state budget, budgetary and fiscal policy, social insurances budget and the mandatory health insurances budget. This week, several hundreds of amendments to the concerned draft laws will be considered,’’ Igor Dodon said.
Also, at the today’s meeting, the sides found out an increase in the budget revenues due to a tough management of the fiscal and customs system. Thus, Dodon noted that, in December 2020, the fiscal authorities collected and transferred to the budget by 7.8 per cent more against December 2019 and the customs authorities collected by 12.8 per cent more. At the same time, the head of state confirmed that the payment of salaries, pensions and social benefits were made without delay, despite the speculations by some politicians.
In the end of the meeting, the officials discussed the pandemic situation, which remains extremely tense. The Moldovan president said that the number of people contaminated continued to increase and one of the Chisinau-based municipal hospitals would be arranged for the reception of people sick with COVID-19. Nevertheless, Igor Dodon said that the health system still had reserves to further combat the spread of the infection. Thus, the Moldovan top leadership repeatedly urged the citizens to strictly observe all sanitary and epidemiological rules.
