As much as 355 million lei to be allocated to Moldova's local public authorities for investment projects in 2021

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ - The government today approved the amendments which see the allocation of financial means for the local public authorities (APL) for capital spending. As much as 303 million lei will be distributed to APL in 2021, additionally to 52 million lei, which the cabinet initially provided for in the state budget law, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
„A large number of amendments were accepted, especially dealing with the earmarking of financial means for investments in the local public authorities. For APL alone, we will have 355 million lei in this year, which is to be distributed to the local authorities for investment projects, depending on their needs,’’ Ion Chicu said.
The means were identified for the redirecting on these purposes of financing from the programme on the repair of national public roads, local, village roads and streets.
„It is worth to be mentioned that nothing is diminished from the Road Fund; it remains in the sum initially planned and quite significant. It is supplied from that Programme, meant for the repair of roads in settlements. As I promised, we come up with proposals to invest in settlements, according to the requirements and requests of the communities, first of all,’’ Ion Chicu said.
The PM said that, also in the beginning of 2020, not all money had been budgeted for the Good Roads programme; yet, during the year, the needed financial resources were provided. ‘’Respectively, I hope that than in 2021, we will come up with allocations for this project, which is also important for the country,’’ Ion Chicu noted.
The distribution of these financial means to local public authorities and on concrete objects rests with the MPs and is to be adopted in the parliament’s plenum, without overcoming the general parameters of the state budget.
The government considered 138 amendments submitted to the state budget law for 2021.
At the same time, the cabinet backed the amendment which refers to the Central Electoral Commission for the repair and purchasing of computer technology, in the context of the next elections, worth 8.5 million lei. The resources will be financed at the expense of diminishing of the allocations provided for the government’s reserve fund.
