Information about financial accounts of Moldovans abroad to be accessible to tax body

Chisinau, 15 December /MOLDPRES/- Moldova will sign Multilateral Agreement of the competent authorities for the automatic exchange of information on financial accounts. The foreign policy and European integration commission approved at today's meeting the advisory opinion approving the signing of the agreement.

The document aims to improve international tax compliance by providing mutual assistance in taxation between the signatory states. It consists of clauses meant to establish the ways of exchange to ensure an adequate flow of information. The exchange will include information to identify the person, information on the account number, name and identification number of the reporting financial institution, information on the balance or amount of the account, dividends or other income.

The agreement was signed in Berlin on 29 October 2014. It is currently signed by 108 signatory jurisdictions.
