Joint Control Commission ordinary meeting postponed

Chisinau, 17 December /MOLDPRES/- Members of the Joint Control Commission convened in an ordinary meeting in Bender today, the Office for Reintegration Policies has reported.

The Moldovan delegation reiterated its arguments for condemning violations that occur in the Security Zone. They are related to the illegal presence of so-called “border guard” posts that obstruct free movement and abductions of citizens committed by armed representatives of the force structures on the left bank of the Dniester.

Intensive discussions on the draft agenda, proposed by the Moldovan delegation did not bring the parties to a consensus, and the meeting was postponed. The reason is the destructive position of Tiraspol representatives defying the acts of peacekeeping operation and prevent examining and finding solutions to problems in the Security Zone.

The Moldovan delegation will further insist on implementing levers available to the JCC to remove any violations of Security Zone regime.
