Moldovan, Greek officials approach cooperation

Chisinau, 17 December /MOLDPRES/- Current issues in bilateral relations, European affairs, schedule of high-level visits, Transnistrian conflict and cooperation within regional and international organizations were the main topics addressed during the phone conversation by Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Aureliu Ciocoi and his counterpart from Greece Nikos Dendias, the MAEIE press service has reported.
The two officials approached current issues on the bilateral, regional agenda and the prospects for multilateral cooperation. They expressed interest in advancing political and diplomatic dialogue by organizing high-level visits to both capitals in the near future.
In this context, the Moldovan official invited his counterpart to visit Chisinau next year.
Ciocoi praised for the Greek authorities' support in Moldova's European prospects and expressed interest in holding the next round of Moldovan-Greek inter-ministerial political consultations in European integration in Chisinau.
At the regional level, the diplomats exchanged views on the Eastern Partnership, cooperation within the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization, appreciating the high contribution of Ambassador Michael B. Christides, the organization's secretary general to the development of regional initiatives.
Aureliu Ciocoi and Nikos Dendias stressed the need to strengthen trade and economic relations and deepen sectoral cooperation. They agreed on the organization of the 4th meeting of the intergovernmental commission for economic, trade and technical-scientific cooperation.
