Drochia aqueduct system rehabilitated, expanded with EU support

Chisinau, 18 December /MOLDPRES/- In Drochia, rehabilitation and expansion works of the water supply system are being carried out within the project Improving water supply services in Drochia, funded by the European Union. The program is expected to be completed in late 2021.

The implementation of the water supply measures of Drochia will contribute to the modernization of the infrastructure for providing the service, increasing the connection rate and people access to safe drinking water, thus improving the living conditions of the citizens and maintaining their health.

The works in Drochia started in early November 2020 and are to be carried out within 12 months. The value of the enterprise contract amounts to 82.87 million lei, of which 5.64 million lei represent the co-financing from the city hall of Drochia and 500 thousand lei - from the Drochia District Council.

The investment measure is funded by the EU in cooperation with the project Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova, implemented by the Agency for International Cooperation of Germany (GIZ Moldova) in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment and financially supported by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
