Chisinau city hall to spend one billion lei for rehabilitation of streets, purchase of trolleybuses, buses

Chisinau, 18 December /MOLDPRES/- Chisinau manamgement has published the draft municipal budget for 2021. Under the draft, the municipality will spend about six billion lei in 2021.

The largest item of expenditure in the draft municipal budget, one billion lei, is intended for road rehabilitation and the purchase of trolleybuses and buses. Thus, 261 million lei and 60 million lei respectively are provided for the purchase of buses and trolleybuses, another two million are planned for the implementation of the electronic ticket system.

Also, the repair of two road bridges is provided - the bridge on Mihai Viteazul Street will be repaired, and the one on Grigore Vieru Street will enter the current repairs. The draft budget provides 104 million lei for the repair of sidewalks on six streets: Dacia, Decebal, Calea Ieșilor, Șciusev, Alba Iulia, Hâncești, M. Kogălniceanu and A. Mateevici. New traffic lights will be set up in 12 large intersections in Chisinau.

By late 2020, the Chisinau Municipal Council will have to decide on the capital's draft budget, which provides for a deficit of 1.5 billion lei. The deficit would be covered by internal and external loans.
