Straseni, Falesti districts received EU aid to combat COVID-19

Chisinau, 18 December /MOLDPRES/- The health centers in Straseni and Falesti have received a donation of protective equipment from the European Union through a regional program implemented by two United Nations entities. The two districts are part of the program and will host more activities to promote gender equality in the coming years.
The donation includes a batch of two hundred thousand masks and 908 liters of disinfectant, which will reach 78 family doctors and 215 nurses in both districts and will help them provide safe medical services.
The batch of medical equipment for the personal protection of doctors from Straseni and Falesti worth 13 thousand dollars is procured from European Union funds and is part of actions to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic carried out within the regional program Together against gender stereotypes and gender-based violence.
The project is funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment (UN Women Moldova) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Moldova, in partnership with the Center for Information and Documentation on Children's Rights.
