Moldovan foreign affairs minister has phone conversation with German official

Chisinau, 19 December /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Aureliu Ciocoi on 18 December had a phone conversation with State Minister for European at the German Federal Foreign Office Michael Roth, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.    

In the context of Germany’s current presidency at the European Union’s Council, the officials discussed the goals fulfilled during the mandate, as well as the subject on EU’s relations with the Eastern Partnership states, which includes Moldova as well.       

The ministers referred to the reforms underway, carried out by the Moldovan authorities, in the context of the European integration agenda, with the German expertise and assistance highly appreciated.

At the same time, the German diplomat voiced concern about the latest developments in Moldova’s parliament. He voiced hope that the Moldovan citizens’ interests would be protected and observed. In the context, Michael Roth assured of Germany’s every support for Moldova in the democratic process and the one of the country’s continuous modernization.
