As many as 1,218 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 19 December /MOLDPRES/ -A number of 3,636 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 1,218 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which six import ones. As many as 134,578 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.    

According to data put out by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 58 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians – 23, medical assistants –28, auxiliary staff employees – 7.

A number of 3,626 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are put in hospitals, of whom 289 are in extremely serious condition (53 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 8,360 persons are treated at home with easy forms of coronavirus and 31,310 are under supervision at the domicile.

Another 1,390 people have been treated and discharged. As many as 117,002 people were treated of COVID-19.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 27 deaths triggered by COVID-19, with 2,727 people dead because of the virus till present. The virus also killed a 76-year-old physician. So far, 63 medical employees have died because of the coronavirus infection.
