Chisinau hospitals facing shortage of workers

Chisinau, 21 December /MOLDPRES/- Out of 1,072 existing beds in municipal hospitals for treatment of COVID-19, 996 are currently full.

The head of the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Health of the Chisinau city hall, Tatiana Bucearschi, said today at the online meeting of the municipal services that 996 coronavirus patients are hospitalized in the capital's hospitals, of which 387 are in serious and very serious condition. "56 people are in a very serious condition, and 331 are in a serious condition. There are no beds in the Intensive Care Units. Municipal hospitals are facing a shortage of workers ", Bucearschi said.

At the same time, the official said that the doctors found an increased aggressiveness of the virus and urged people to follow the anti-COVID-19 prevention rules. The municipal administration is considering supplementing the Covid-19 Center at Moldexpo with another 140 beds.
