Moldovan writer settled in France marks birthday anniversary

Chisinau, 21 December /MOLDPRES/ - A poet and publicist, cultural manager, designer of handmade jewelry, businesswoman settled in Paris, France, Lorina Balteanu, marks her 60th birthday anniversary today.
Lorina Balteanu was born in the village of Peciste, northern Rezina district, on 21 December 1960. In 1982, she graduated from the Moscow-based Maxim Gorki Literature Institute. She made post-graduate studies at the Dijon University, France and studied cultural management in Paris. She was the first chairwoman of the Soros-Moldova Foundation in 1992-1997.
Settled in France, Lorina Balteanu got involved in Diaspora’s activities and devoted herself to the handmade jewelry, with much inspiration and passion. She founded and is co-owner of the Lorina Balteanu brand, meant for European and Japanese markets, as well as market from Moldova. Balteanu is the first Moldovan to exhibit her jewelry at Louvre at the Dior exhibition, organized by the Museum of Decorative Art, during one year. This was the culminating point of more international events dedicated to this kind of fashion. A necklace made by Lorina Balteanu is found on the posting of the movie Beauty and the Beast.
In 2011, she organized a unique exhibition titled Decadent Solstice, at a marathon event in Chisinau, where she exhibited collections of jewelry made during seven years. Balteanu launched her first collection La Fall in Love Fashion Walk 2014, the autumn edition, - a collection inspired from the Paris style, which includes, besides jewelry, handmade bags of clothes.
She presented her collections at diverse far-reaching fashion events in New York, Tokyo, London, Geneva. Balteanu is member of the Moldovan Writers’ Union (1988). She is the winner of the Man of the Year 2017 Contest, at the Fashion Industry category, organized by the magazine VIP magazin.
