As many as 703 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 21 December /MOLDPRES/ -A number of 1,637 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 703 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which six import ones. As many as 135,910 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.   

According to data put out by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 31 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians – 11, medical assistants –17, auxiliary staff employees – 3.

A number of 3,324 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are put in hospitals, of whom 233 are in extremely serious condition (60 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 8,494 persons are treated at home with easy forms of coronavirus and 35,477 are under supervision at the domicile.

Another 1,380 people have been treated and discharged. As many as 120,015 people were treated of COVID-19.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 26 deaths triggered by COVID-19, with 2,777 people dead because of the virus till present. The virus also killed a 49-year-old physician, who had worked at the Soroca-based Public Health Centre. So far, 64 medical employees have died because of the coronavirus infection.
