Chisinau, 22 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan cabinet members, at a today’s meeting, voted for the extension by one year of the temporary moratorium on the employment of public sector staff on the vacant positions registered.
According to Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister Serghei Puscuta, the measures of salary policy proposed for 2021 have a considerable impact on the national public budget, with the staff expenses forecast with an increase of more than 817.1 million lei against the level approved for the 2020 year.
„In these conditions, in order not to hit the authorities’ functionality and not to create salary debts to staff employed, the current draft decision suggests the enforcement of the moratorium on the employment of staff in vacant positions ascertained on 30 November 2020,’’ the official said.
Thus, the National Social Insurances House, local public authorities and independent public authorities are recommended to suspend the employment of staff on the vacant offices registered on the same date.
