As many as 1,282 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 23 December /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 3,874 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 1,282 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which six import ones. As many as 138,213 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to data put out by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), a 14-per cent decrease in the number of infected people was recorded in the last four weeks.

Eighty four out of all cases are medical employees: physicians – 23, medical assistants –44, auxiliary staff employees –17.

A number of 3,463 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are put in hospitals, of whom 261 are in extremely serious condition (50 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

Another 1,212 people have been treated and discharged. As many as 122,614 people were treated of COVID-19.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 22 deaths triggered by COVID-19, with 2,825 people dead because of the virus till present.
