Power transmission ceremony held at Moldova's Presidency

Chisinau, 24 December /MOLDPRES/ - The official ceremony of transmission of the power by the former president Igor Dodon, whose mandate expired on 23 December, to new President of Moldova Maia Sandu took place at the headquarters of the Presidency today.

Maia Sandu covered the way to the presidential institution by foot, accompanied by people applauding. At the Presidency, she was waited by Igor Dodon with a bunch of flowers. Subsequently, the banners of power were transmitted and Maia Sandu and Igor Dodon greeted each other.

Following the ceremony, groups of carol singers came to the yard of the institution to sing carols and Maia Sandu told her supporters that the Presidency’s gates would be opened from now on.
