Macroeconomic situation, banking system discussed at presidency

Chisinau, 26 December /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu had a discussion today with Governor of the National Bank of Moldova Octavian Armașu about the macroeconomic situation in the context of the economic crisis that the Republic of Moldova is going through, the situation of the banking system and the need to resume relations with the International Monetary Fund, the presidential press service has reported.

Maia Sandu stressed the importance of strengthening the independence and capacity of the BNM to prevent financial-banking fraud in the future, such as the theft of the billion or laundromat.

Sandu pointed out the commitment of the presidential institution to support the BNM initiatives that come to ensure the financial stability of the country.
