Moldovan President meets Prosecutor General

Chisinau, 26 December /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu had a meeting today with Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo.

According to the presidential press service, Maia Sandu requested information about the progress of the investigations on the resonance cases, progress and impediments in advancing and resolving them in court. At the same time, the president said that people are waiting for justice to be done in the cases, people demand that people involved in corruption schemes be investigated and punished, and the stolen money returned to the state.

The head of state reiterated commitment as president to strengthen the rule of law in Moldova.

"Justice can really operate independently only with the respect and trust of citizens. And for that, judges and prosecutors must be honest and good professionals. The integrity of judges and prosecutors is the guarantee of their independence ", she said.
