Moldovan president to hold consultations with parliamentary factions, groups

Chisinau, 28 December /MOLDPRES/- Today President Maia Sandu will hold consultations with parliamentary parliamentary factions and groups.
According to the presidential press service, the consultations will take place at the presidency, according to the following schedule: 11.30 am - Socialist Party faction, 12.30 pm - PAS faction, 2 pm - ACUM faction, DA platform, 3 pm - Democratic Party faction, 4 pm - Shor Party faction, 16:30 - Pro Moldova Parliamentary Group.
At 18:00, Maia Sandu will hold a press conference.
Ion Chicu announced on 23 December his intention to leave office. According to him, this was the first step in triggering snap polls. He later said he and several ministers will only act until the end of the year.
According to the legislation, the cabinet would be in office until the members of the new government take the oath. During his resignation, he will perform only public administration functions.
The president is also obliged to start consultations with the parliamentary factions for the formation of a new government. The deadline for investing new cabinet is three months. If a new cabinet is not voted during this period, the parliament is dissolved and snap polls are held.
