Romanian president to visit Chisinau tomorrow

Chisinau, 28 December /MOLDPRES/- Romanian President Klaus Iohannis will pay an official visit to Chisinau on 29 December at the invitation of Moldovan President Maia Sandu.
According to a press release of Bucharest presidential administration, this will be the first high-level visit received in Chisinau by Maia Sandu after taking office as president.
“The visit of the Romanian president to Chisinau will provide the framework for sending a strong message of support for the new President of the Republic of Moldova, at a historic moment for the European integration of Moldova, as well as a message of support for Moldovan citizens for irreversible implementation of the principles of the rule of law and consolidation of the European integration and privileged relations with Romania ”, the communiqué reads.
The visit will be focused on issues related to Romania's support for Moldovan citizens under the COVID-19 pandemic and respectively for supporting the economic and social development of the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, they will adopt a Joint Declaration aimed at strengthening the bilateral strategic partnership.
