Bibliography of well-known Moldovan linguist launched at Chisinau municipal library

Chisinau, 28 December /MOLDPRES/ - A book titled Nicolae Mătcaș: Risipă și măsură: Biobibliografie (Nicolae Matcas: Prodigality and Measure: Bio-bibliography) was launched at the Chisinau municipal library B.P. Hasdeu today.  

Contacted by MOLDPRES, one of the authors of the book, PhD in philology Elena Ungureanu said that the volume had 400 pages and was a special product. It has printed variant (book), electronic version (posted on the platform Zenodo.org); each out of those 100 copies is accompanied by a DVD, on which 25 audio and video documents are recorded (radio programmes, speeches in parliament, homage speeches, etc.).        

According to the library’s director, Mariana Harjevschi, the volume is a homage paid to professor, writer, former minister Nicolae Matcas, who reached the venerable age of 80 years in 2020. ‘’I am firmly sure that the volume will contribute to the re-bringing in the public space of the image of Nicolae Matcas and his entire work,’’ Mariana Harjevschi said.      

Professor Nicolae Matcas was present at the event as honorary guest. Attending the launch of the volume were representatives of the Education, Culture and Research Ministry and Chisinau city hall, decision-makers in charge of the edition’s coordination, librarians, disciples and colleagues of the distinguished professor, etc.
