Draft budget of Chisinau city to be voted in two readings

Chisinau, 28 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) today voted a draft decision, under which the Chisinau municipality’s budget will be voted in two readings.

The Chisinau municipal administration has prepared a draft decision on the approval of the budget for 2021 in two readings through a single voting. Municipal councilor Veronica Herta said the budget must be approved through the voting of two different drafts: a draft for the first reading and another one for the second reading. After long discussions, the municipal councilors approved a draft decision, through which two separate draft decisions will be prepared.

At the same time, more municipal councilors during the debates said that the draft municipal budget for 2021 had not been submitted to them. The process of public consultation of the municipal budget for the next year finished today.

The draft budget for 2021 provides for revenues worth 4.66 billion lei, of which state budget transfers amounting to 2.64 billion lei and expenses worth 5.95 billion lei. The deficit forecast is of 1.28 billion lei.
