Inoculation with vaccine made by Pfizer, BioNTech starts in Belgium, Latvia

Chisinau, 28 December /MOLDPRES/ - Belgium and Latvia today joined the EU countries, with which they started the residents’ inoculation with the vaccine made by Pfizer and BioNTech, according to dpa.
In Belgium, a person aged 101 years from an asylum was the first one from the Brussels region to be vaccinated; she was followed by four residents of the same asylum, the Belga news agency reported.
In Latvia, medial employees, the staff of the Riga-based East Clinical University Hospital were the first to be vaccinated.
A transport means with almost 10,000 vaccines was brought to Latvia on 26 December and they are to be administered in ten hospital vaccination centres.
The European Commission informed about a joint launch of vaccination since 27 December till 29 December; vaccines were ordered for all 27 member states. Germany and Poland were among the first EU countries to launch vaccination campaigns.
