Moldovan president says to come up with solution she sees to overcome situation in several days

Chisinau, 28 December /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has informed that she would soon come up with her proposal on the overcoming of the situation emerged following the resignation of Prime Minister Ion Chicu and the cabinet of ministers. ‘’In several days, I will come up with the solution which I see to overcome the situation, under the Constitution,’’ Sandu said at the end of the consultations with the parliamentary factions and groups.

According to the Moldovan president, no formation of the current parliament openly recognizes that it is part of a majority and can propose a new government; yet, all factions informed that they spoke out for snap parliamentary elections.

Maia Sandu also said that the acting government was assumed by the Party of Socialists and it should fulfill its duties before the citizens.

On 23 December morning, Ion Chicu announced his intention to resign from the office of PM. Chicu said that both he and several ministers would fulfill the duties only till the end of this year.
