Diego Costa cancels contract with Atletico Madrid

Chisinau, 29 December /MOLDPRES/ - A Spanish international footballer of Brazilian origin, Diego Costa, has reached an agreement to cancel his contract with Atletico Madrid, the football club from Primera Division said today, in a press release posted on its official website.

After arriving in Atletico in 2006, at the age of only 17 years, Diego Costa played 215 official matches in all in the two stages spent at the Madrid-based club, managing to score 83 goals and making 36 assists.

The 32-year-old attacker won a title of national champion (2014), a cup of Spain (2013), the Europe League trophy (2018) and two Super Cups of Europe (2010, 2018), with Atletico Madrid.

Diego Costa was connected with Atletico by contract till June 2021; yet, he has earlier asked to be let to leave this winter, ‘’for family reasons,’’ according to the Spanish club, which wished him success in the next stage of his carrier.
