EU provides Moldova with 34 ventilators for COVID-19 patients

Chisinau, 29 December /MOLDPRES/ - Thirty four ventilators for COVID-19 patients in serious condition and 41 monitors for patients today were supplied to Moldova with the support of the European Union and World Health Organization (WHO).
According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry, the value of the medical equipment is of about 1 million euros and is one of the biggest donations on behalf of the European Union and WHO. It is to be distributed according to the needs of the hospitals from the country, in order to be able to cope with the number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in serious condition. Also, consumables for the earlier donated medical equipment were brought to Chisinau - those 356 oxygen concentrators and 2010 pulse oxymeters, in order to ensure the uninterrupted and qualitative medical assistance for children and adults.
The donation is part of the response of the European Union and World Health Organization to the COVID-19 pandemic, which so far has registered more than 79.9 million cases in 216 countries and areas from all over the world. As many as 141,924 cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Moldova till 29 December 2020.
