Chisinau, 29 December /MOLDPRES/ - The new strain of SARS-CoV-2 from the United Kingdom has not been found in Chisinau for the time being.
At a today’s meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council, the deputy head of the Chisinau city hall’s Social Assistance and Health General Department, Boris Galca, said that the new strain of coronavirus, developed in the UK, had not been discovered in the Moldovan capital.
“There is no clinical evidence or symptoms for this strain. People who return from the United Kingdom must compulsorily stay in quarantine,’’ Galca said.
At the same time, the official noted that the first doses of anti-COVID-19 vaccine were to reach Moldova in early next March. According to Boris Galca, the medical employees are to be the first to be vaccinated in the Chisinau city. ‘’Chisinau should surely be regarded priority in terms of vaccination. We have the most serious epidemiological situation here. It is about at least 10,000 physicians and then other medical employees,’’ Galca added.
