Moldovan citizens to pay for compulsory health insurance themselves

Chisinau, 30 December /MOLDPRES/- From 1 January the employer will no longer pay the compulsory health insurance to the state. The insurance will be paid in full by employee.

The National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) said that starting with 1 January 2021, the compulsory health insurance policy will be paid in full by the employee, instead the employer will assume responsibility for the full payment of the contribution to the pension fund.

According to the CNAM, if until now the employee paid 6% of the salary for pension fund and 4.5% for health insurance, which represented a total of 10.5% , from 1 January 2021 the employee will pay only the health insurance in full, 9% of income.

The above-mentioned changes will contribute to simplifying calculation and payment of the contributions and optimizing the management of payments.
