Igor Dodon re-elected president of Moldovan Party of Socialists

Chisinau, 30 December /MOLDPRES/ - Igor Dodon has been reelected as president of Moldova’s Party of Socialists (PSRM). Zinaida Greceanii made statements to this effect, who said that this decision had been taken at a today’s Congress of PSRM.

Igor Dodon said that the formation he leads was preparing for snap parliamentary elections and would make no coalition in the current legislative period. ‘’We further speak out for snap elections and I urge the new president of Moldova to start the procedures needed for the parliament’s dissolution,’’ Dodon noted.

At the same time, he also said that the Socialists had no candidature for the office of prime minister, showing confidence that PSRM would make it to the next parliament.

Igor Dodon was PSRM president till 2016. He gave up this office after elected as president of Moldova. Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii has been PSRM president till today.
