As many as 977 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 31 December /MOLDPRES/- A number of 2,763 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 977 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which nine import ones. As many as 144,818 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to data put out by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 47 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians –19, medical assistants –18 and auxiliary staff employees –10.

A number of 2,774 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are put in hospitals, of whom 246 are in extremely serious condition (58 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 6,063 persons are treated at home with easy forms of coronavirus and 33,868 are under supervision at the domicile.

Another 1,104 people have been treated. As many as 130,643 people were treated of COVID-19.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 26 deaths triggered by COVID-19, with 2,985 people dead because of the virus till present.
