Well-known Moldovan theatre, movie actor would have turned 85

Chisinau, 2 January /MOLDPRES/ - A departed theatre and movie actor, Vasile Constantin, would have turned 85 years today.
Vasile Constantin was born in the Suclea village, eastern Slobozia district, on 2 January. He graduated from the Moscow-based Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute in 1960. Constantin is one of the founders of the Luceafarul Theatre for Children and Youth, along with Ion Ungureanu, Dumitru Caraciobanu, Ecaterina Malcoci, Nina Voda, etc.
He debuted with the play, Nota zero la purtare (Zero mark for behavior) by Victor Ion Popa, Costumul de nuntă (The Weding Suit) by A. Remizova. For health reasons, he worked for a while as librarian at the Library of Moldova’s Theatrical Union, being also employed in the troupe of the Luceafarul Theatre.
During his career, he played parts in a lot of theatre performances and movies by authors of Moldova and from abroad.
Vasile Constantin was awarded the title of Merited Artist and honorific title of People’s Artist.
