Master photographer Mihai Potarniche turns 70 years

Chisinau, 4 January /MOLDPRES/- Photographer Mihai Potârniche, Master in Art, winner of 2015 National Award for his entire activity in photographic art, celebrates today 70th anniversary.
Mihai Potârniche was born on January 4, 1951 in Păhărniceni village, Orhei district. In 1970 he graduated from the College of Viticulture and Vinification in Chisinau. He is self-taught in photographic art. He made his debut as a photojournalist at the district newspaper Munca Pașnică in Straseni.
He was a photojournalist for the weekly Cultura, Moldova Socialistă, ATEM and TASS, the magazines Femeia Moldovei and Moldova. In 1997-2004 and 2010- 2019 he was director of the Fotomoldpres TV Department of MOLDPRES Agency. He is currently the editorial secretary of the magazine Moldova.
In 1993 he was awarded the title Master of Arts of the Republic of Moldova. In 2013 he was awarded the Prize of the Ministry of Culture, and in 2015 he became the Laureate of the National Prize for his entire activity in photographic art. In 2019, he won the Gheorghe Cincilei award of Ministry of Education, Culture and Research. Throughout his career he has had 45 solo exhibitions in the country and abroad and has edited about 50 albums.
