Household waste from Chisinau to be deposited at Țânțăreni landfill

Chisinau, 4 January /MOLDPRES/- The waste from Chisinau will be deposited at the waste landfill in Țânțăreni.

Chisinau authorities announced today at the online meeting of the mayor's office services that they extended by another year the waste storage contract at the solid waste landfill in Țânțăreni. "The contract with the local authorities from Țânțăreni was extended for one year. We communicated to the officials to convene a meeting, so that everyone knows what are the obligations assumed by the municipality to the commune, each one to include them in the activity plan. According to the old contract, certain works have been initiated, but they will be completed as soon as time allows ", deputy mayor Ilie Ceban said.

Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban said that the municipal authorities made in 2020 the commitments assumed by other governments. "Many previous governments failed to meet the commitments. I am glad that the city hall team this year managed to do the things assumed from 2011, 2015, 2017, 2018, all in one year. We still have some minor moments to complete," Ceban said.

The solid waste landfill in Țânțăreni has an area of 25.95 hectares with a maximum storage capacity of 44,000,000 m3 of uncompacted waste. About 23 million m3 have been buried in the landfill so far. About 650-700 tons of household waste are collected daily from Chisinau.
