As many as 612 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 5 January /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 2,965 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 612 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which nine import ones. As many as 146,921 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.  

According to data put out by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 40 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians –13, medical assistants –21 and auxiliary staff employees –6.

A number of 2,639 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are put in hospitals, of whom 244 are in extremely serious condition (51 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 5,849 persons are treated at home with easy forms of coronavirus and 27,637 are under supervision at the domicile.

Another 730 people have been treated. As many as 134,751 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 16 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 3,070 people have died of coronavirus in all. Among the dead people, there is also a 59-year-old physician from the Hancesti District Hospital. Sixty six medial employees have died because of the COVID-19 infection so far.
