Chisinau city hall to set up crisis cell to handle winter situation

Chisinau, 11 January /MOLDPRES/- The municipal authorities announce they will set up a crisis cell, which will manage the severe winter situation that is forecast this week.

Deputy Mayor Ilie Ceban asked today at the online meeting of the municipal services the organization of a crisis cell that will monitor and coordinate the emergencies that occur during severe weather events.

According to the State Hydrometeorological Service, today and tomorrow it will snow lightly in several districts of the country, and in the following days a sudden drop in temperature is forecast -9 -12 degrees Celsius.

The National Inspectorate of Public Safety announced this morning that on several roads in Moldova workers are intervening with snow removal equipment and anti-skid material. Authorities recommend drivers moving slowly, equipping cars with proper tires and keeping distance between vehicles so that they can stop the car safely.
