Annual inflation stands at 0.39 per cent in Moldova in December 2020

Chisinau, 12 January /MOLDPRES/ - The National Statistics Bureau (BNS) has informed that the annual inflation had stood at 0.39 per cent in December 2020.
BNS made public the data on the evolution of prices for the end of 2020; thus, decision-makers found out that the annual inflation had been 0.39 per cent, including 1.66 per cent for food products, non-food products (-0.49 per cent) and services provided to residents (-0.30 per cent).
Moldovan statisticians say that the average consumer prices increased by 0.32 per cent in last December against November 2020. The growth of the average consumer prices was prompted by a 0.51-per cent increase in prices for food products and by 0.37–per cent increase for non-food products.
At the same time, higher increases in prices for liquid gas packed in cylinders, fuels, medicines, medical devices, TV sets, touring cars, cigarettes were recorded in December 2020 against the month before.
Concomitantly, up to 2 per cent cuts in prices were registered in last December against November 2020: for earth coal, fridges and freezers, electric rangers, electric working tools, devices for taking pictures and shooting, household chemical goods, objects for travelers and haberdashery, shoes and boots for men, shoes for women, sports goods.
Price increases were recorded for the services provided to residents in December 2020 against November, the same year for: compulsory insurance of transport means – 14.9 per cent, tourism services abroad – by 4.2 per cent passenger air transport services – by 1.9 per cent, hotel services – by 1.7 per cent, renting apartments – by 0.8 per cent.
The tariffs for the gas supplied through the network for household consumers decreased by 2.1 per cent on the concerned period against November 2020.
