Moldovan president, Ukrainian PM discuss up-to-date bilateral issues

Chisinau, 12 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today afternoon met prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal. At the meeting, the two officials exchanged ideas on ways of re-launching the bilateral relations, as well as the way of cooperation on the agenda of European integration, regional security and collaboration in concrete sectors for the benefit of the citizens.
„We have discussed the improvement of the infrastructure and boosting of economic exchanges, combating corruption and contraband, the joint control at the border and the worrying ecological situation of the Dniester river. We tackled the issue of energy security, as well as the Transnistrian conflict settlement. And this, even if Moldova is presently managed by an acting government,’’ President Maia Sandu said at the end of the meeting.
The meeting with Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal was the last item on the agenda of the official visit to Kiev by President Maia Sandu.
