Waste sorting, recycling plant to be built in Chisinau

Chisinau, 13 January /MOLDPRES/- The local public authorities in Chisinau are preparing a feasibility study for the construction of a plant for sorting / recycling / reuse and disposal of solid waste.

Chisinau city hall informed today that on 23 December 2020 the Chisinau Municipal Council approved the construction of a plant for sorting / recycling / reuse and disposal of solid waste, collected in Chisinau, as an object of public-private partnership . According to the document, the Chisinau APL is to work out a feasibility study on the implementation of the project and the General Directorate of Finance will plan for 2021 funds for the elaboration of the study.

At the same time, the General Directorate of architecture, urban planning and land relations will propose to the Chisinau Municipal Council land suitable for location / construction of the plant.

Statistics show that about 650-700 tons of household waste are collected daily in Chisinau.
