Well-known journalist of Moldova dies

Chisinau, 14 January /MOLDPRES/ - Journalist, holder of the Mihai Eminescu Medal, former employee of Radio Moldova and Jurnal de Chisinau Lidia Bobana died on 13 January evening at the age of 73.
Lidia Bobana was born in the Untesti village, western Ungheni district, on 16 March 1947; she was daughter of departed Moldovan writer Vasile Vasilache. Bobana graduated from the Foreign Languages Faculty, specialty Spanish and English Philology, of Moldova’s State University.
She worked at the National Radio during 34 years and made successful programmes. At the same time, Bobana worked another 16 years as author of the column True Stories of the Jurnal de Chisinau publication. In the last year, she cooperated with the Gazeta de Chisinau newspaper.
According to more media sources, the life stories of Lidia Bobana made people cry and moved their souls. The love for people and the boundless altruism turned her into the most beloved journalist from Moldova – a strong person, determined to move up to the end, in order to help her readers.
In 2000, Bobana was awarded the Mihai Eminescu medal.
