Chisinau, 14 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu on 13 January had a working meeting with Head of the OSCE Mission in Moldova Claus Neukirch. The two officials discussed more up-to-date subjects, especially on the Transnistrian conflict settlement.
„I stressed that we supported the exclusively peaceful principle of the conflict’s settlement, by political and diplomatic means, and any speculations on the subject of aggressive intentions are just provocations and deliberate misinforming. There are no premises for conflict. The citizens from the Transnistrian region are citizens of Moldova and there is no disagreement or hostility between the two banks,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
As for the 5+2 format, Maia Sandu noted that it remained the basic platform for the process of negotiations and that concrete problems are needed to be tackled within this platform. In the context, the head of state emphasized that this platform should work in the people’s interest and include a string of subjects, including on the humanitarian dimension, human rights, social, economic and freedom of movement dimensions. At the same time, President Maia Sandu highlighted that the fight against corruption and contraband was one of her most important priorities.
