Chisinau, 15 January /MOLDPRES/- Dear fellow citizens,
We celebrate the National Day of Culture which coincides with the birthday of the great national poet Mihai Eminescu - a personality who defines the essential values of Romanian literature.
Established by Parliament Decision No74 of 12 April 2012, the National Day of Culture aims to promote national culture, authentic cultural values, as well as personalities in the field.
People of culture are the messengers of beauty, they are the ones who offer us refuge when we are overwhelmed by daily worries. Due to the work done by them in performance halls, workshops, exhibition spaces, the name of the Republic of Moldova is recognized far abroad.
We also express our gratitude to all actors, singers, musicians, librarians, museographers, writers, artists, cultural professionals who, regardless of the challenges of 2020, have managed to bring culture into our souls and homes.
Unfortunately, I have to say that the year 2020 has largely deprived us of the opportunity to admire your talents and many have missed the pleasure of watching a show or a concert performed live.
It is therefore our duty to take all necessary steps to combat the pandemic and bring cultural activities back into our daily agenda.
On behalf of the government and my own behalf, I wish you good health, hard work, inspiration and appreciation of the results of your work.
Aureliu CIOCOI
Acting Prime Minister
Minister for Foreign Affairs and European Integration
