Chisinau, 15 January /MOLDPRES/ - The day when we pay homage to the great Mihai Eminescu is an opportune occasion to ponder over, if quoting another great poet Lucian Blaga, what is ‘’the only means of self-assertion both before the present mankind and before the future history’’ – Culture . A day when we should reflect on our cultural heritage, as well as on the responsibility to transmit this heritage further.
The culture has always been at the head of the fight for the freedom of spirit, inspired values, widened horizons, dissipated fears and prejudices. The culture, by the self-abnegation of its elites, moved the country forward, although a place on the forefront was not always reserved for it.
Today, I direct by attention also to creators, masters of the spirit, as well as to us, who enjoy the fruits of their mind. It was a tough year for everybody, it was a difficult year, when we had, somehow isolated from the outer world, to orient ourselves to us, to what we are, think, do. The pandemic reduced the speed with which we pass through time, but gave us chance make order in our thoughts, reset our priorities and create mechanisms of adaptation to the new realities.
Dear actors, stage managers, writers, musicians, cinematographers, painters, photographers, philosophers, critics, curators, editors, ethnographers, people who work on stage and people working in the backstage, I know that you acutely and intensely feel the repercussions of the pandemic. I understand that the restrictions cut you wings, but I am confident that together we will revive in a better world, wishing and capable to appreciate the Beauty, Truth and Good. I wish you everybody good health and confidence that the return to conducting, to microphone, chair, in the footlights, in a word, to the much expected normality is quite near.
Health, inspiration and congratulations!
